Employee Spotlight: Ada, Marketing Manager

Been with Music Health since 09/2021

Tell us about yourself and your journey to Music Health

Hi! I’m Ada, Marketing Manager at Music Health. I joined the team in September 2021 as a marketing intern while finishing my Bachelor of Entertainment Management degree at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM). I fell in love with the purpose and people at Music Health, and two months later, I was offered a part-time role as an Earned and Paid Media Executive. This role was very suitable for me as I was going back home for a couple of months after graduating, and I was offered the flexibility to work from Finland for a couple of months. Once I returned in April 2022, I got promoted to a full-time role as a Marketing Manager.

Outside of work, I’m a music and outdoors lover. I enjoy going for runs and yoga and hanging out with my friends over some good food.

What made me go into marketing ?

When I started my studies in 2019, I soon noticed my interest in marketing. Every marketing unit generated the most motivation and interest, and I received my best marks in those too. I did my first marketing internship, which showed me that it is something I want to lean on. When Music Health’s marketing internship opened up, the role was like made for me. Not only do I enjoy marketing and music but also helping others.

I find myself very creative, and I love doing designs and spending my time on social media looking for trends to apply to my work.

What does your regular day at Music Health look like?

It changes day-to-day. I sure have some weekly routine tasks, such as checking analytics and ads and creating new content. However, there’s much more to it. New tasks come up every day when working in a fast-paced startup like Music Health. I plan on different campaigns, applying for events and awards, writing copies for various places such as blog posts and developing new marketing strategies.

If you could take one album, and one thing with you on a deserted island, what would it be ?

If I could take just one album with me on a deserted island to listen to for the rest of my life, I think it would be Jorja Smith's Lost & Found. One thing that I would bring with me would probably be a dog to keep me company :)

What are you most proud of so far while working at Music Health?

When I started as Music Health, I was part of the first ever created #Shareasong campaign. That was pretty cool to be working on different marketing strategies for the campaign and making such a successful concept that now runs yearly. Launching Vera on the App Store and the success in PR I created with Steve’s help, though, has to be what I’m most proud of now. Making noise not only in Australia but also around the world, including the US( e.g., Rolling Stones ), UK(e.g., The UK Times) and even Europe (e.g., Brussels Times) regardless we hadn’t launched there yet.

What do you find most challenging about your role?

Marketing is a role that creates a lot of opinions. I work in marketing at the moment by myself. For this reason, it can sometimes be challenging to come up with the right strategy or content. However, with the help of my amazing work friends, I’ve always come up through these challenges.

It can also be challenging to keep up with what’s happening in other departments while I’m busy with marketing.

What is your best memory while working at Music Health?

Has to be our last team event in July! The team from Melbourne came to Sydney for our quarterly review. Two days full of connecting with the team, including an Amazing Race around Sydney with some incredible tasks, food and prizes.

What is your favourite Music Health ‘practice’?

‘No Jerks’

This is important for me as I find it essential to work in a good work environment with good people. Everyone should feel respected no matter what their role is. It’s important not only for your job satisfaction but also for mental health. I find that we do this exceptionally well at Music Health. Even as an intern, I always felt like I was part of the team and on the same level as everyone else, which is how it’s supposed to be too.

Lastly, what would you say for someone who is thinking about applying to Music Health?

Like Nike would say, Just Do It ! (lol)

Music Health is an excellent place for someone passionate about helping people, making change and, of course, music! It’s a great place to grow in your career! There’s always plenty of room for improvement and getting involved with different things!
